FUTURE SHOWTIMES:
The Madness European Vacation Tour 2017 was a vibrant celebration of the band’s enduring legacy, coupled with their continued musical evolution. Timed to follow the release of their 2016 album Can’t Touch Us Now, the tour took Madness across Europe, performing in major cities such as Berlin, Paris, and Amsterdam. These shows marked a joyful reunion with fans, some of whom had been following the band since their ska-pop explosion in the late 1970s. The tour was part of a broader wave of performances that confirmed Madness’s position as one of the UK’s most beloved bands. With nearly four decades in the music industry, their unique blend of catchy tunes, witty lyrics, and playful stage presence ensured that every show was full of energy and nostalgia.
Seven years after their last stage in Milan, Madness returns to Northern Italy with two unmissable concerts to present Can’t Touch Us Now, the album released last year for Universal. Save the dates: Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Live Club in Trezzo sull’Adda (MI) and Sunday, October 29 at the Gran Teatro Geox in Padua. Tickets, strictly nominal and with a purchase limit of 4, will be available on the official Ticketone circuit (online and points of sale) starting at 10 am on Friday, June 30.
Can’t Touch Us Now is just the last piece of exciting years for Madness: recorded in three weeks at Toe Rag Studios, it is produced by Clive Langer – alongside the band for a long time and architect of the highest peaks in the Madness career – and by Liam Watson, winner of a Grammy for his work on Elephant by the White Stripes. Tracks like Mr Apples, Mumbo Jumbo, Blackbird and Can’t Touch Us Now itself manage to fully grasp the combination of pop, reggae and soul that has made the band inimitable. As often happens in the most successful albums of Madness, the lyrics are a sketch of London reality in a humourous key.
